“Restoring Dignity. Proclaiming Hope. Serving in God’s Love.”

Sanctuary Missionaries of Divine Mercy

We are a religious missionary society devoted to the worship of Christ in the Most Holy Eucharist, the prayer of the Rosary of Reparation for peace, and the living witness of God’s boundless mercy. Rooted in prayer and sent forth in love, we serve the poor, the forgotten, and the vulnerable across the world, bringing the light of Divine Mercy into places of suffering, need, and hope. In fidelity to this mission, we support faith formation, priestly formation, and religious formation in developing countries, helping to form missionaries for worship and service.

Motto:

“From Eucharistic worship to merciful mission.”

Our Apostolates

Rooted in the richness of Catholic tradition and worship, Sanctuary Missionaries transform prayer into action through works of mercy and a steadfast commitment to Catholic social justice. We are dedicated to nurturing faith through religious formation and to serving those most in need poor families, children, youth, the elderly, vulnerable immigrants, and survivors of human rights abuses bringing hope, dignity, and compassionate care to every life we encounter.

Goals

“To be a global apostolate of Divine Mercy, rooted in Eucharistic worship and prayer, forming missionaries, and serving the poorest and most vulnerable, so that Christ’s mercy transforms lives and communities.”

About the Mission

Who We Are

Sanctuary Missionaries of Divine Mercy is a religious missionary society established in California, United States, with a clear and prayerful mandate to unite worship and works of mercy for the glory of God and the salvation of souls. Inspired by the merciful
Heart of Jesus and the tender intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our mission flows from the words of the Lord: “Remain in me, as I remain in you… for without me you can do nothing” (John 15:4–5). At the heart of our life and apostolate is worship. Our missionaries give priority to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, Eucharistic adoration, and the Rosary of Reparation for peace, responding to Christ’s call to watch and pray for the world (cf. Matthew 26:41). From the sanctuary of prayer, we are sent forth to bring the light of Divine Mercy into places of suffering, abandonment, and hope.

We

  • Serve as missionaries across nations and cultures, bringing God’s mercy, hope, and compassionate presence to communities wherever the need is greatest.
  • Lead people into a deeper relationship with Christ, promoting the worship of God and a personal encounter with the Eucharistic Jesus through prayer, catechesis, and pastoral care.
  • Stand with the poor and vulnerable including children and orphans, the sick and elderly, immigrants and displaced families, the homeless, and victims of
conflict and injustice offering both spiritual support and practical assistance.
  • Form the next generation in faith and character, providing religious education,
mentorship, and values-based formation that nurtures sanctity, peace, and responsible leadership among young people.
  • Defend life, uphold human dignity, and build peace, training communities in
reconciliation, accompanying immigrants and refugees, and empowering women
and youth through education and sustainable development initiatives.
What We Do:

An Apostolate of Mercy

Faithful to the Gospel command, “Whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40), our apostolate of mercy is directed especially toward the poorest of the poor and the most vulnerable—the homeless, displaced persons, immigrants at the crossroads of life, the sick, the lonely, and the elderly.

Each month, our missionaries engage in street ministry in San Francisco and Los Angeles, feeding the homeless, praying with them, and providing food, groceries, and hygiene supplies. Beyond immediate assistance, we accompany them in seeking pathways to shelter and reintegration, affirming their God-given dignity and encouraging a transition from vulnerability to stability. In this way, we seek not only to relieve suffering but to help restore lives, recognizing that authentic mercy transforms both individuals and communities (cf. Micah 6:8).

In 2025 alone, through this ministry of presence and compassion, we supported over 2,600 individuals living on the streets. We remain deeply grateful to our
benefactors especially the St. Vincent de Paul Group and St. Cecilia Parish, San
Francisco whose generosity makes this mission of mercy possible.

Collaborative Mission Institutions and Partnering Organization

Recognizing that the future of evangelization depends on well-formed servants of the Gospel, we are committed to supporting faith formation, religious formation, and priestly formation, particularly in developing countries. As Scripture reminds us, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few” (Luke 10:2).

Our collaborative mission currently extends to Nigeria, Uganda, and Pakistan, where we support formation and pastoral initiatives in institutions such as:

  • Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy, Nigeria
  • Daughters of Divine Promise, USA
  • Seat of Wisdom Seminary, Owerri, Nigeria
  • Sacred Heart Parish, Uganda
  • St. Anthony’s Mission Parish, Pakistan

Through these partnerships, we help nurture vocations and strengthen local Churches, especially in regions facing material hardship, faith-based threats, and religious persecution. Looking ahead, we plan to extend this mission to other areas of urgent need, standing in solidarity with persecuted and marginalized Christian communities.
